Common questions
- Are there hotels on Ekerö?
- Yes, both ordinary hotels near the centre and larger conference venues by the water: Skytteholm, Sånga-Säby and Kaggeholm are estates that have become hotels with restaurants and meeting rooms. They take private guests too, especially at weekends.
- Where do you stay if you want to be near Drottningholm?
- Kärsögården on Kärsön is within walking distance of the palace. Otherwise the whole of Ekerön is close: the buses pass Drottningholm on their way to and from Brommaplan, so a place to stay near Ekerö centre puts you a quarter of an hour from the palace.
- Is there a hostel or a campsite?
- Rastaholm on the south-western side of Ekerön has a hostel, and Birka has glamping during the boat season. There is no classic family campsite in the municipality; the guest harbours take boat guests overnight.
- Can you stay on a farm?
- Yes, there is bed and breakfast on farms on Ekerön and Färingsö, in the middle of the orchards. They are few, so book early in the apple season and in summer.
